SACRIFICE – DAY FIVE: THE SACRIFICE OF LEGACY

“I urge you to pray so that I may be restored to you soon.”  Hebrews 13:19

This final plea in Hebrews is more than a personal request—it’s a longing for reunion, restoration, and spiritual legacy.

It reminds us that leadership is a relationship, not just a role.

Many people think of legacy as what we leave behind. But what if it is also about what we invest in now?

For older generations in the church, this is a moment to pass the baton well—to give encouragement, wisdom, and prayer to those who will lead the next generation.

For younger adults, it’s a reminder that you’re not starting from scratch. Others have paved the way, and you get to carry the mission forward.

But none of that happens without sacrifice—the kind of sacrifice that says, “I’ll give up my preferences to see God’s mission fulfilled.”

So what’s your legacy? I hope it’s a legacy of sacrifice. It might look like mentoring someone younger in the faith, praying for a next-gen leader, or choosing unity over comfort. May it be a lasting legacy … for the Kingdom!

Ultimately, every sacrifice rooted in Jesus builds something that endures forever!
