“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.”  Ephesians 2:6-7 

These are such beautiful verses! 

Not only are we given new life in Christ. In Him, we are given the promise of life to come. For those who have been made alive in Christ – it only gets better! This text shows us that the closer we get to Jesus, the more aware we are of our need for Him. And the more aware of our need for Him, the more in awe we are of His amazing grace.  

In the ages to come – even beyond this life – as those in Christ step into eternity, we will grow more and more amazed at the immeasurable riches of his grace and kindness toward us. We will never grow tired of seeing the amazing grace of Jesus that has set us free!  

Is heaven boring to you? Do you wonder what we’re going to do in heaven? Then you haven’t grasped the immeasurable riches of God’s kindness! I love the words of the classic hymn “Amazing Grace,” which say, 

“When we’ve been there 10,000 years, bright shining as the sun, we’ve no less days to sing God’s praise than when we first begun.” 

Just think – ten thousand years into eternity, the grace of God and His kindness toward us will be so amazing and beautiful that it will be like we are seeing it for the first time! 

Today we remember the riches of God’s grace shown to us in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross for our sins. Through the power of His resurrection, spiritually dead sinners can be resurrected and born again!
