“In order that he might redeem those who are under the Law that we might receive adoption as sons.” Galatians 4:5
Imagine standing outside a grand mansion, orphaned and longing for a home. That’s how many of us feel spiritually. But Galatians 4 reminds us of an incredible truth– God doesn’t just save us; He adopts us.
Verses 4-6 of Galatians 4 say that Jesus was born of a woman, under the law, to redeem us. And why? So that we might be adopted as sons and daughters of God. That word– ‘adopted’– CHOSEN– WANTED and brought in by LOVE.
When we put our faith in Jesus, we’re not just forgiven, we’re welcomed into the family. We go from being enslaved to sin to being a child of the King. Then God seals our adoption by sending His Spirit into our hearts so we can call Him “Abba, Father.” That word “Abba” isn’t formal– it’s intimate. It’s like calling God “Dad.”
Maybe your earthly father failed you. Maybe you never had one. But in Christ, you have a perfect Father. He loves you, protects you, and welcomes you with open arms. And He will never leave you or fail you.
Remember– in Christ, you’re not alone. You’re not forgotten. You are adopted by grace.
