Winning is Easy – Losing is Devastating

January 12, 2015

“In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south.” – Zechariah 14:4

It always brings fans to their feet. In golf, it’s a hole-in-one. In basketball, it’s the slam-dunk. In baseball, it’s the home run. But in football, it’s the touchdown. The objective is simple. The football team with the most points wins, and usually that means the most touchdowns.

But the greatest and most exciting touchdown has yet to occur, and when it does, the players on the winning team will go wild with joy. Those on the losing team will be devastated with defeat. The Bible tells about it in the Old and New Testaments. The Messiah will touch down on the Mount of Olives outside Jerusalem when Jesus returns.

Do you believe it? Will you be ready for the ultimate feat? How you respond in faith to Christ determines whether you are on the winning team or losing team – forever.

It is my hope that you’ll be able to celebrate the touchdown, not be devastated, when Jesus comes!
