WHAT WOULD JESUS DO?

November 27, 2018

“…do not imitate what is evil, but what is good.” – 3 John 1:11

Depending on your age, you may or may not remember the book, 1984, written by George Orwell. It was considered required reading in schools for many years. When it came out in 1949, Orwell predicted, among many other things, that people would go to the movies and laugh at people being killed. The world was shocked! Sadly, that prediction became a reality a long time ago. It was called “the numbing of America.”

Have you thought about the current epidemic we face as parents in this generation? There’s more violence, sex, and immorality bombarding a child’s intellect than ever. Look at the results: We see children committing vicious murders, including killing their classmates, with little regard for their actions. It’s obvious that what they see on TV, in video games, and in the movies plays a part.

Thankfully, there is a remedy. As parents, we can teach our children to make decisions based on a formula that’s been around for a long time – WWJD – What Would Jesus Do? Can you think of any wrong your child might learn by doing this?

How do we know what Jesus WOULD do? The Bible shows us. Teach it to your child as a formula for learning right from wrong.
