TIME TO TURN ON THE LIGHT – DAY TWO: THE AUDACITY OF LIGHT

August 23, 2025

From a sermon by Bryant Wright, Founder

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.1 John 1:7

As we discussed yesterday, Jesus’ claim to be the “Light of the World” was revolutionary and audacious.

In a world where many claim to be “a light,” suggesting they offer one way among many, Jesus stands out by declaring He is the definitive source of light that overcomes to spiritual darkness (John 8:12). This assertion was not about diminishing the value of cultural or religious diversity but about offering an ultimate solution to the human condition—redemption, salvation, and spiritual enlightenment.

In today’s context, where pluralism and relativism often dictate the intellectual climate, claiming an exclusive truth can seem antiquated, if not offensive. Yet, the persistence of global issues like poverty, disease, and moral bankruptcy in even the most advanced societies speaks to a deeper need that mere human progress cannot address.

Jesus offers a path to a better life through renewed lives that radiate His light. This redemptive journey begins not with condemnation but with an invitation to step out of confusion and into the clarity His truth provides. By choosing to follow Him, we are not walking into a restrictive set of doctrines but moving towards a life illuminated by profound love and eternal purpose.

Why don’t you choose to follow Him today – and every day?

Tomorrow, we complete this series with “The Light That Transforms.” I hope you’ll join us!
