Jesus was constantly making religious people mad. Imagine that! What made them the angriest were His claims about Himself. Jesus said:

• I AM the bread of life.
• I AM the light of this world (meaning enlightenment).
• I AM the way (meaning the way to God).
• I AM the truth.
• I AM the life (meaning the key to eternal life).
• Before Abraham was, I AM.

Now, these are definite claims to be God, and for the religious leaders of the day, they were outrageous and blasphemous statements. Jesus was claiming to be God; this was the primary reason that Jesus was executed.

Many people claim that Jesus was simply a good man, or a prophet, or a talented teacher, when Jesus so clearly demonstrated that He was so much more.

So, what about you? If you’ve ever wondered who Jesus really was, then take the time to read through the Gospels. Study His life, His teachings, and the eye-witness accounts of those who witnessed His three years of ministry. And ask God to open your eyes to the truth of who Jesus claimed to be.  I believe Jesus told the truth about Himself. Do you?
