JESUS WAS ALWAYS HEADED TO THE CROSS

“While Jesus was on the way to Jerusalem, He was passing between Samaria and Galilee.”  Luke 17:11

If you study the New Testament, you will often find references to ” while Jesus is on the way to Jerusalem.”

Please remember that.

And why was Jesus headed to Jerusalem?

Christ came to teach.
Christ came to preach.
Christ came to heal.
Christ came to perform miracles.

But the primary mission of Christ was always to head to Jerusalem.

Why? Because at Jerusalem was the cross.

So? At the cross, He would pay the penalty for our sins.

And why was that important? The main reasons that Jesus Christ came are so He could be our Savior and die in our place and so He could save us from sin, death, and hell.  All through His ministry, amidst all the great things He did, He never lost sight of His central mission.

He was headed to Jerusalem. Jesus was headed to the cross.  This is why He came.
