I once watched a program that took us back through many truly amazing times in the history of our world. One of the most poignant visuals was on Christmas Day 1991. The world watched as the Soviet Union’s leader resigned and the Communist red hammer and sickle flag was lowered for the last time, marking the end of over 70 years of repression and 45 years of Soviet-American conflict.

God’s sense of timing is perfect. He must have chuckled on that Christmas as He watched the very government, which tried to destroy Christianity for more than seventy years, officially end on Christmas Day.

My friends, God is in control of all of history. His plans are sure. His timing is perfect – from the birth of His Son, to the end of the Soviet Union on Christmas Day. And one day, in His perfect timing, Jesus will return. The way history is moving, it won’t be long. Let us all be ready for His coming by walking in God’s will every day, through faith in Christ.
