“…but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.‘” – Genesis 3:3
Imagine this: a man and woman wake up – this the first man and woman – and they see a world full of beauty, glory, savory fruits and incredible animals. All were living in harmony with one another and with God.
Fast forward. God had one particular tree in the middle of the garden and He told Adam & Eve that they must not eat from it.
Ever wonder why?
Well, the reason is actually quite simple. God created us to have fellowship with Him and with the free will to choose to follow His commands.
There is no true love in a relationship unless we are free to choose whether to accept or reject that love.
To love God is to obey Him. It’s a choice. If we have no choice, we have no opportunity to experiece real love, and we’re just robots or puppets.
God didn’t create robots or puppets.
And God’s love is so great that (even though we all choose to disobey Him more often than we’d like to admit), through Jesus Christ, He has given us a way to be forgiven, changed, and empowered to love God’s way.
Choose Christ in faith.
Today.
It’s a love relationship like none you’ve known before!
