“Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.” – 1 John 2:22

If someone were to ask you who you felt to be the best communicator of all time, who would it be? Is it someone like Winston Churchill, John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., Billy Graham, Ronald Reagan? Maybe another public figure comes to mind. The Bible speaks about a great communicator that will one day win over the world through his charisma. This person, however, will bring a twisted message and a deceptive agenda. I’m talking about the Antichrist.

The Antichrist will be just that – the opposite of Christ in every way.  He will appear to be a good man who will bring unity to the world, but all the while he will be the embodiment of evil. He will prey on the world’s desire for peace and economic prosperity and  step into power with the charisma and intellect of a seasoned world leader.  But, listen closely to his words to avoid being led astray. The Antichrist won’t arrive with horns and a pitchfork, but he’ll be just as deceitful. So, how will we recognize him when he shows up? Pay attention to what he says about Jesus. Like the false prophets who have come before, the Antichrist will twist truths and spread lies about the person of Jesus.

The closer you walk to Christ, the easier it will be to spot the lies. So, how is your walk with Jesus? Will you be able to filter through all the lies and hold onto God’s Truth?
