“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect…” 1 Peter 3:15
If someone asked you right now why you follow Jesus, what would you say?
Peter reminds us to be ready — not with a sermon, but with a personal story of hope. People may debate theology, but your story is something no one can deny.
Think of it this way:
Who you were before Christ.
How you came to trust Him.
How your life has changed since.
Here’s mine:
I grew up in a Christian home and thought I was fine spiritually. But at a Christian camp, I realized I had been using God for success before a test or a big game—while keeping Him at arm’s length the rest of the time. When I finally understood His love for me personally through what Christ did for me on the cross–giving his life for me– I gave Him my whole heart. Since then, I’ve lived with real purpose, assurance of eternal life, and confidence that His plan for my life is best.
That’s my story in 100 words. What’s yours?
When the opportunity comes, share the hope you already carry — with gentleness and respect.
