WITH ALL OUR MIND

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.” Mark 12:30

Artificial Intelligence now touches nearly every part of our lives– from writing articles and diagnosing medical conditions to navigating cars on the highway. Technology is advancing so quickly that it can feel like we’re living in the future. But it raises an important question:

If humanity can create artificial intelligence… where did our intelligence come from?

Scripture tells us that our ability to think, discover, analyze, and create is a gift from God Himself. We are made in the image of a God who thinks, reasons, and designs with purpose. Jesus said the greatest commandment is to love God with all our heart, soul, strength– and with all our mind (Mark 12:30). In other words, the brain God gave us is meant to be used for His glory.

Some people assume Christianity requires “blind faith”– believing without thinking. But genuine faith isn’t opposed to intellect; it invites tough questions. Healthy faith engages both the heart and the mind. God is not intimidated by honest doubts or sincere searching.

In fact, the Bible repeatedly calls us to think deeply about our beliefs:

  • “Come now, let us reason together,” says the Lord (Isaiah 1:18).
  • “Always be prepared to give an answer… for the hope that you have” (1 Peter 3:15).

One pastor put it this way: “You don’t have to give up your intellect to trust the Bible—you have to give up your pride.” The issue is rarely intelligence; it’s humility. Loving God with your mind means submitting your thoughts to His truth rather than expecting Him to bow to yours.

Loving God with all our minds means we:
• Think deeply about His Word, not just skim it.
• Ask questions and seek biblical answers.
• Grow in discernment so we can spot truth from falsehood.
• Choose wisdom over simply being smart.

Real intelligence isn’t measured by IQ, achievement, or technological innovation. It’s measured by whether we know the God who created us– and align our thinking with His.

As AI grows more powerful, may we never forget the Source of true wisdom. Use your mind to pursue God, to learn His Word, and to love Him fully.

Our greatest intelligence isn’t in what we know– but in Who we know, choosing to trust the One who made us.
