THE GIFT FOR A LIFETIME

“Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts…” Galatians 4:6

Christmas gifts can fade. They can break or be forgotten. But God’s gift in Jesus is for a lifetime– and beyond. In His perfect timing, through His perfect plan, He gave us salvation, freedom, adoption into His family, and an intimate relationship with Him.

Before Jesus went to the cross, He promised His followers that they would not be left alone. In John 14:25, Jesus said that the Father would send “the Counselor, the Holy Spirit,” who would live within them and remind them of everything Jesus taught. Paul echoes this truth in Galatians 4, when he writes that “God sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts,” assuring that we truly belong to Him. This means that our relationship with God is no longer distant, but personal.

Christmas didn’t end in a manger. The manger points to the cross. The cross led to an empty grave. And the risen Jesus, our Redeemer, now dwells within us through His Spirit, reminding us of His truth and comforting us with His presence.

That’s the gift we celebrate at Christmas– a gift that never ends.

So will you celebrate the gift of Jesus this Christmas, and every single day?

Remember that Christmas is not only a season– it’s a reminder of God’s perfect timing and perfect plan. The gift of Jesus is not temporary; it’s eternal. May His presence through the Holy Spirit continue to shape your everyday life, filling you with hope, joy, and confidence that you are God’s beloved child.
