STAND FIRM AND SEE
While Israel panicked, Moses stood steady. His words cut through the chaos: “[d]o not be afraid. Stand firm. Be still. The Lord will fight for you.” Moses saw the same Egyptian army as everyone else, but his perspective was different. Instead of focusing on the problem, he fixed his eyes on the power of God. That is always the key!
This wasn’t denial– it was faith. Moses knew something Israel didn’t yet grasp: God hadn’t led them this far to abandon them. If He had delivered them from Egypt, He could deliver them here too.
We need this reminder. When crisis hits, our instinct is to scramble for solutions, try to fix the unfixable, or try to control what’s uncontrollable. But there are moments when God simply calls us to stop striving and trust Him. Some battles are not ours to fight. Some victories are won only when we stand still long enough to see God work.
The Red Sea wasn’t just an obstacle; it was a stage for God’s glory. Israel would soon discover that their impossible situation was the very place where God would display His power. And often, our hardest moments become the places where God’s presence is most undeniable.
Standing firm doesn’t mean doing nothing. It means refusing to let fear replace faith. It means quieting your heart, fixing your gaze on Jesus, and trusting Him enough to be still and let God fight for you.
