“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns.” Revelation 19:11-12a
KING JESUS: FAITHFUL & TRUE
Jesus’ second coming will be a time of judgement and war. Many people find it offensive to think of Jesus as a judge. However, Jesus explicitly states that this authority is from the Father (John 5: 22-23, 26-27) and that His judgement will be both righteous and just.
At the same time, Jesus will also return as a mighty warrior on a mission to save His people – Israel. Wearing a glorious crown and robes dipped in blood (Rev. 19: 12b -13a), the world will be reminded of not just His great love and sacrifice on the cross but of His power and might as King, Messiah, and Lord. It will be an awesome sight to see Jesus as “King of Kings, and Lord of Lords (Rev. 19:16).”
So, what does all this mean for us today? The day of judgement is coming. However, God’s mercy and grace desires that no one perish. That’s why God sent Jesus the FIRST time, so that He could pay the penalty for our sins and conquer sin and death. It’s out of love for us – mankind – that we have not yet seen Jesus’ triumphant return. God’s desire is that everyone would know the love and forgiveness of faith in Jesus Christ; although He knows most will reject His love and salvation in Jesus. While there’s still time, be sure you have decided to trust Jesus as Savior and Lord. May you know Him today.
