Many of you are full-time career women–some of you outside the home, some of you inside the home. You ALL have full-time jobs, whether you’re a homemaker or full-time career woman- whatever it may be. What are some practical thoughts that you can ask yourself about what is best – under God – for you and your family?**

1.  Is your work done for the glory of God? Is Jesus pleased? Are you doing your work because God has gifted you in certain areas? Or are you doing this because a certain material lifestyle is really driving what you want more than anything. Only you can answer that question before God.
2. Is your career something that your husband is pleased with? Is your husband happy, and is there harmony in the home because of your career?
3. Does it build up the home or does it tear it down? This can affect career women who are not only married, but have children still living in the home. What is best for your children? Once again, you and your husband are going to have to talk this through and ultimately seek God’s will in working that out.
4. Can you stay under the person in authority over you at work and not compromise your relationship with God and your family? In other words, women, if you’re working outside the home, and you have a supervisor that is putting pressure on you to do things that cause you to compromise either your faith, your relationship with God, or cause you to compromise the priority of your husband and your family at home, are you willing to make a change in order to get that right? (Men, this goes for you, too!)

These aren’t easy decisions to make. The key question you have to ask is, “What does God want me to do? What is God leading me to do? And am I willing to do it, no matter what changes I need to make?”
