“I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” John 8:12
Do you ever get lost when you wake up in the dark?
Navigating that pathway from the bed to the door in the dark can be more than a little tricky: bumping into walls or tripping over hidden obstacles along the way. (The last time that happened to me was very painful!) But turn on the lights, and suddenly, everything becomes clear.
Wandering blindly through the dark is how many people approach life. They’re trying to navigate their way through the darkness – spiritual darkness.
Unsurprisingly, they often stumble, trip, and fall – subjecting themselves to a lot of self-inflicted and unnecessary pain along the way.
Why?
Because they think they can “feel” their way around – in the dark.
But Jesus tells us that He is the Light of the world, which means that He is the ENLIGHTENMENT of God and life for mankind. Without Him, we remain stuck trying to figure this life out on our own; we’re wandering around in spiritual darkness.
And as long as we continue to try things our own way, we will continue to stumble and fall.
If you’re looking for some clarity and direction in navigating this life, turn to Jesus. Let Him be the light in your life. You’ll find a lot more clarity in where you’re headed – I guarantee it.
