“And [Jesus] said to them, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?" And they said, "Some say John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; but still others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets." [Jesus] said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." -Matthew 16:13-17 "

The question Jesus posed to his disciples at Caesarea Philippi was perhaps the ultimate question … ”Who do you say that I am?” It is a fair question, but it is also a profound question. And the setting of the conversation was interesting as well. Caesarea Philippi was a hot bed for all kinds of religious worship with the people of the time chasing gods of nature, mysticism and even emperor worship in government. So in the midst of this environment, Jesus asked His followers a simple question.

There are thousands upon thousands of different religions, sects and belief systems in our world today. Each has an identity; each has a goal of seeking the true meaning of life; each is prompted by that innate desire within each one of us to worship “something.” But when it all comes down to it, each of us must eventually come face to face with this same question. No longer can we deflect the question toward some creed or mantra or to what someone else has told us. We …. ”who do YOU …” must declare a personal conviction of Who Jesus Christ is. It doesn’t get much simpler than that.

So how would you answer? Jesus was a good man? A prophet? A teacher? Or the Christ … the Son of the Living God! There is something about a personal declaration … and that personal declaration can open the door to your eternal destiny. The reality for you and I is Jesus is either the Christ or He is not. There is no in between. After all, a prophet is never wrong or mistaken otherwise he is not a prophet. And Jesus made some rather bold claims. Jesus is Who He says He is.

Not a single claim that Jesus has made has been disproven. Jesus IS the CHRIST … why would you not trust Him as a personal Savior? At Right From The Heart Ministries, our mission is to proclaim that very fact.

It’s a good question …. and is certainly worth asking. What about you?
