The Christmas story is familiar to many … the angel visiting Mary proclaiming her to be with child by the Holy Spirit … Joseph being assured by the angel to stand by his young fiancée despite the society pressures of being pregnant while only engaged … the travel to Bethlehem and the subsequent “no room in the inn” scenario which required Mary to give birth to Baby Jesus in an animal stable and then place Him in a feed trough. The shepherds would come at the beckoning of heavenly angels announcing the birth of a Savior and later the wise men from the East following a star seeking the King of the Jews. Can you imagine? And then, just picture in your mind’s eye, Mary, and what she had to be thinking in reflection of all that had happened. Certainly, she treasured those supernaturally holy events and now was pondering them in her heart. What a poignant moment that must have been!
Those with a personal relationship with this same Christ can share this sentiment of wonder. We think about our blessings in all their many forms … a marriage, the birth of a child, a healing of some health condition, delivery from a potentially catastrophic circumstance or simply some other special situation when you knew God Himself was specifically involved in your life. Certainly, these are times when we quietly cast our gaze toward Heaven and think about the Lord’s goodness in our hearts. Wow. Don’t ever take these times of remembrance lightly. Embrace them!
Christmas is a time of reflection of all that we have been given. It is also a time that prompts us to give to others as well. We at Right From The Heart now look back at the effort of planting seeds of encouragement, truth and challenge all across the globe through various means of media ... radio, television and the internet. In fact, in 2017, we have been celebrating 25 years of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ, something we certainly treasure in our hearts. I want to personally thank you for partnering with us through your giving, through your prayer support and even by just receiving this monthly newsletter or reading a daily RFTH devotional. Our work is not done. We need you to continue with us on the mission of delivering a word of hope in Jesus Christ to a world that has no hope without Him. Your support in whatever form is crucial to this effort … thank you.
May you, like Mary, treasure the wonder of God becoming a man and ponder with wonder that He has been born in your heart this Christmas season.
