"And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?" - Micah 6:8

Three simple requirements in life. This statement is just as applicable today as it was when the prophet challenged those that would listen over 2700 years ago. Biblical wisdom is timeless.

• Do justice: all of us want to be treated fairly, right? But we can’t just receive justice; we have to give it, as well. The famous evangelist and teacher, Oswald Chambers, says “never look for justice in this world but never cease to give it.” We embrace justice because it is the right thing to do. We can be sure that ultimate justice will be decided by the Lord God Almighty for He is the One, holy and righteous. His final judgement will be based on whether our hearts are completely His, not just on whether we did good things in life.

• Love kindness: that’s harder than it sounds! The sinful nature in each of us would love to exact a little revenge from time to time especially when we have been done wrong. But how did Jesus react when he was undeservedly beaten and scourged and hung upon a cruel cross? “Father, forgive them for they do not know what they are doing,” He said. Now that’s “loving” kindness.

• Walk humbly: humility is the one virtue that when you claim you have it ... you just lost it! Humility is a powerful, but shrinking character trait in leadership these days. Society seems to demand toughness, confidence and an attitude of being right all the time. But being humble demonstrates an even greater strength and an assurance of our position in Christ. Humility is not weakness but a reverence before the Almighty God. When Job was confronted with the realization and magnitude of the Lord’s greatness, he simply said, “… how can I respond to You? I put my hand over my mouth.”

Three quick little phrases worthy of a sticky note reminder on your refrigerator, dash board or computer screen. Thanks for partnering with Right From The Heart through your participation of prayer, financial support or even your interest. God’s Truth is indeed timeless and offers each of us hope and encouragement as we experience life. May you be blessed as you bless others today.

In Christ,
