Will You Be Toast?

June 22, 2012

“The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.” – 2 Peter 3:9

There is a lot of focus these days on doomsday movie scenarios. Movies like I Am Legend and War of the Worlds envision a deadly virus that will kill everyone. Others worry that aliens from other worlds will overtake us, and boom! It’s all over.

What do you think?

God destroyed the world once with a flood when mankind was so bad they made Him sick. In the end, God will destroy the world with fire. But there’s a reason He hasn’t done it yet. Consider His words: “He is waiting because He desires for none to perish and He is giving more time for sinners to repent.” That’s in the Bible.

Hey, is that you? God loves each of you so much that He wants all to be saved by Him, but His patience will eventually wear out because of the evil of our world. When it does, will you be toast or will you be safe in heaven?
