Teaching Your Children How to Make Decisions

May 28, 2011

“…do not imitate what is evil, but what is good.” – 3 John 1:11

Have you thought about the current epidemic we face as parents in this generation? There is more violence, sex, and immorality bombarding a child’s intellect than ever. Look at the results: We see children committing vicious murders, including killing their classmates, with little regard for their actions. Obviously, they are conditioned by what they see on TV and in the movies.

Do you remember George Orwell’s book, 1984? When it came out in 1949, the world was shocked because he predicted that people would go to the movies and laugh at people being killed. That prediction has become reality. It’s called “the numbing of America.”

There is a remedy. As a parent, you can teach your children to make decisions based on a formula that’s been around for a while – WWJD – What Would Jesus Do? Can you think of any wrong your child might learn by doing this?

What WOULD Jesus do? The Bible shows us. Teach it to your child as a formula for learning right from wrong.
