Jesus taught, “I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you” – Matthew 17:20
How much do you pray? In an article in Time Magazine, it stated that 87% of Americans believe that God answers prayer. And 54% said they prayed at least once a day. Now when you hear results like that, you realize that prayer is certainly the norm for individuals.
But it raises the question – how powerful is your prayer life? Do you pray because you have some sort of superstitious outlook about prayer, feel like you need to ask God’s help to get what you want? Is there a dimension of praying for things or making a request of God that, when unmet, leaves you disillusioned? These are symptoms of a powerless prayer life.
So realize, prayer is conversation with God. And it’s more about getting to know the mind of God than asking God to change His mind to what we want. The key to powerful praying always includes a willingness to do God’s will no matter what His answer is. Start there and you’ll be amazed at the power of prayer.
