Pleasing One

March 12, 2011

“…so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;”

11(D)strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; “…joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. – Colossians 1:10-12

Are you the type of person that wants to please others? It’s so frustrating because no matter how hard we try, someone is always disappointed. We can never please everyone. It won’t happen.

But I have a secret to share with you. It will liberate you from the frustration of living to please others. Choose to please one – just one, and do as you please. And that one isn’t you. It’s God and Jesus Christ.

Live to please Him, and you can do as you please. You sure won’t please everyone, but you’ll do what is best for God and everyone, and you. And you’ll be liberated from the impossible to please world.
God will be pleased. You will be pleased. And amazingly, lots, though not all, but lots of people will be pleased as well. Please one person and you can do as you please.
