“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!” – Matthew 6:23
Do you talk to your children about what they’re seeing on the internet? Do you warn them about the dangers, not only of pornography, but of other dangers, and ask them to report to you when certain dangers occur? Let them know you want to help them stay away from danger. If you’re not doing this now, you should start immediately.
And what about you? Ask yourself this: Would I be the least bit embarrassed if my Mom or Dad, my husband or wife, or especially my children were seeing what I’m viewing on the internet? How about God? He sees everything we do! These are great questions to ask, because they are a great check in our spirits about what can be so devastating to our minds and spirits.
Be sure that you’re an involved citizen. Do you realize our public libraries have become the modern day adult bookstores? The modern day adult theaters? And, unbeknownst to most of us, this obscene, filthy pornography has even been known to work its way into libraries and schools. We have to be active as parents to see that protection is in place so this enemy doesn’t reach out and kidnap innocent minds.
Be vigilant. God entrusted these children into our care, be it as a parent, teacher, aunt, uncle or friend. He will hold us accountable. Matthew 18:6 says,”But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Words not to be taken lightly.
