How to be Prepared for Danger

October 08, 2022

“He who is not with Me is against Me…” – Luke 11:23a

People often run back to faith when a crisis hits…

…and in today’s volatile society that can be a daily occurrence.

Whether it’s a devastating natural disaster, a terrorist attack, or a mass shooting…when it occurs, many people quickly seek comfort and protection from God.

Indeed, the psalmist writes: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).” But I want you to understand something. While God wants us to run to Him in times of trouble, if your motivation is to escape danger, you will be grossly disappointed. God does not promise that we’ll escape danger or even death. Whether it’s a terrorist attack or a heart attack, a plane crash, or a car crash, we will always have disasters in this life, and furthermore, we will all face death one day.

The way to come to the Lord is with a spirit of repentance that says:

Lord, I realize how much I have ignored Your will in my life and focused on my own self-interests. I now come to You with a repentant spirit. I want to call on the forgiveness and salvation of Christ. I know it’s a dangerous world we live in, but Lord, I want to get things right with You from here on out. I want to do things Your way through the salvation of Christ and the teachings of scripture.

Being ready for the hereafter is the best way to live for today. You will never be disappointed if you get right with God. He not only extends forgiveness but promises an abundant, eternal life with Him both now and forever more.

So what’s it going to be?

You only live once; how will you choose?
