As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”  Matthew 24:3

Before you get confused, the answer to your question is, YES!  You are receiving two devotions from me in one day!  In light of today’s regular daily devotion, HOW TO READ THE BIBLEit seemed natural at this point to take you further into the Word, and talk about the End Times!

In early January 2016, the Chinese stock market sent shudders through the financial world. The Dow saw its sharpest one-week drop in all of history. Everyone wondered, “Where are we headed? What’s going to happen?” Now, that’s ancient history, but when it happens, people want to know, “What does the future hold?”

We are all interested in the future, and Jesus’ disciples were no different. When confronted with the same questions we have, His reply must have stunned them! He said that their great Temple, even the columns on the Temple Mount, would be torn down. (Matt.24:2) They were dumbfounded and full of questions. “When will this happen? Will there be signs?”

To put it in today’s vernacular, it would be as if you were standing across Hudson Bay looking at the beautiful, imposing view of Twin Towers of the World Trade Center and someone told you, that those towers will be demolished to the ground by mid-morning. That would have been inconceivable to them. Yet, the inconceivable occurred the morning just before mid-morning on September 11, 2001.

We all want to know what the future holds for us.  Are we in the End Times?  How will we know when to expect the end to come?

Jesus responded to them and to us.  The answers to when the end of the world as we know it will be, only the Father knows. (Matt 24:36, 42) But the answers to our questions about recognizing the signs of the times, and many more, are available in Bryant’s newest book, The Stage is Set, available in paperback, Kindle, and CD audio formats at or in paperback only at
