The Trinity - Let Us Make Man In Our Image
"Then God said, 'Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.'" - Genesis 1:26
The Trinity is an often misunderstood word. It is a theological term to describe God as three persons in one. The actual term is never mentioned in the Bible, but the concept is in the Old and the New Testament.
In the very first chapter of the Bible, God says, “Let Us make man in Our image.” Who do you think “Us” and “Our” is? There is no indication of God being married, so it’s not His wife. And Angels don’t “create,” they are a creation of God. There is only one logical answer. It’s God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
When Jesus, the Son, was baptized, God’s word tells us that God, the Father, spoke from Heaven and said, “This is my son. I’m proud of Him.” (My paraphrase.) Then, God (the Holy Spirit) descended upon Him in the form of a dove. All three were there; all three are one God. It’s a mystery our finite human minds have a hard time grasping. But the Trinity, God as three in one, fills us with wonder at the unexplainable greatness of God.

From John on May 5th:
Just a question to start discussion. As physical human beings, it is obvious that we are in the image of Jesus. What are the qualities that relate to God the Father's image, and The Spirit's image?
From Winnie on May 5th:
Isn't it wonderful that we don't have to fully understand the Trinity in order to share in all the benefits. God is SO good!
From Grant on May 5th:
Yes it is. The "finite" cannot fully comprehend the "infinite". That's why God told Moses, "I AM WHO I AM".
From Gunk on May 27th:
None of us can understand until we have understood fully what it means to be:
"Despised, and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised; and we esteemed him not..." Isaiah 53.
So God says: "I AM" proud of you and people say "we hate your guts"--enough to have them Stuck to a Cross and Mutilated.
"Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out exceedingly, saying, Let him be crucified..."
Matthew 27.
Jesus said: "Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I go, I will send him unto you..." John 15
Jesus was not the First Baptist...He was a Jew First and then Paul was sent to the Greeks.
"But glory and honor and peace to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek..." Romans 2
Regardless of what you see on NatGeo or the History Channel?
This is God's Redemptive Plan in Perfect Order...It is an Ever-Widening Covenant of Grace which reveals "I AM".
He has been very Patient with us?
