A Visit From The Greatest
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth." - John 1:14
Get the picture: It's a quiet day on the driving range. Two men are hitting golf balls, trying to figure out the game. All of the sudden, Jack Nicklaus comes up and offers to give them a few tips on how to play.
What would you do if you were one of those guys? You would probably be issuing high fives, excitedly trying to convince your friends that the greatest player who ever lived had just humbled himself to spend time showing you the secrets of the game. It would be an awesome experience!
But do you understand that the story of Jesus is millions of times more awesome than this? For even though these teens might look up to Jack as some type of god, the one true God of the Universe did something far more important. Jesus Christ became a man and dwelt among us, the ultimate expression of humility. And then He showed his love for us by coming to be our Savior and showed us how to play the game of life.
Having Jack Nicklaus join you to hit golf balls would be a once in a lifetime experience. But Jesus coming to earth as a baby? Now that is an extraordinary story for the ages.

From Grant on Mar 5th:
John wrote, ", and we beheld His glory,"...
I used to pass over that too quickly. It is so grand, that to ponder it with anticipation can fill a life.
From Austin on Mar 5th:
I wish I was full of grace and truth!
From Janice on Mar 5th:
Be encouraged, Austin, because every day we are given the opportunity to become more and more like Jesus, full of grace and truth. We can read and meditate on His words in the Bible, we can pray, and we can seek to be around other Christians who can share of their knowledge of Jesus. As Jesus increases in our life we decrease and there is more grace and truth that comes out of us thanks to Him working through us. Imagine taking the backseat to Jesus and letting Him do all the driving---sometimes I want to be the backseat driver when I just need to be the backseat rider. Just realizing we want to be more like Jesus and we want to give control over to Him is a start. Blessings!
From Steve M on Mar 6th:
WOW !
Wouldn't it be cool if Jack Nicklaus said, "Hey, I gotta go now, but from now on, I'll be in you teaching you everything about the game every day that you play... so keep playing and submit to my power as I golf thru your body. Learn my way of playing and listen to my voice, and tell others what I teach you..." Now that would be something. I think I'd play all the time. Or not.
