Objection: The Bible Is Full Of Errors “For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit…and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” - Hebrews 4:12
One of the main objections to Christianity is this: “The Bible is filled with myths and mistakes. It’s a book of men rather than a book of God.” But the real questions behind this objection are:
• Can the Bible be trusted?
• Is it really true?
• Is it God’s Word, or man’s?
First response: What mistakes are you concerned about? Is there a possibility you are parroting some professor like the breath-taking brilliance of a college freshman? Or have you really studied it yourself and determined there are mistakes?
Secondly, all of Scripture’s dependability rises and falls with the resurrection of Jesus Christ. If that did not occur, the book is filled with lies and Christianity is a colossal hoax! But if Jesus rose from the dead, then everything else in the Bible is possible and believable. Believing in the Bible begins with Jesus. And faith in Jesus begins with the trustworthiness of Scripture.

If there is any doubt in your mind after reading "The case for Christ" by Lee Strobel then you were just meant to have eyes that don't see and ears that don't hear. A wonderful book by a former atheist.

Matt: You're cry for help and statement that you love Jesus and want to be close to him again is key. If you feel that way, you can fight this. I am praying for you. Call on God to give you the strength to fight your addiction. You can be healed of this. That may mean seeking help from a local, faith-based organization for the support you will need. Matt, I have gone through similar trials even to the point of nearly taking my own life. Then the life changing love of our Lord Jesus Christ entered my life and saved me. If you are serious about recovery and recommiting your life to Christ, find a local program in your area called celebrate recovery. Thay are Christ centered and will help you on your road to recovery. Christ will meet you wherever you are. I am praying for you.

The Bible IS filled with errors and mistakes and myths. I've mentioned a few of them in this forum. If the errors and mistakes don't bother you then you live in your own world, just like the Muslim terrorists.

Science must continually be revised and corrected.

The bible is proved WRONG over and over. Science is revised because scientists admit when they are wrong and seek to correct their mistakes. Unfortunately most believers will never admit that there is mistake in the bible, since that threatens their worldview. This is delusional thinking, like a battered wife who refused to admit where the bruises come from. No amount of reason will fix this.

Name one mistake or error, since you seem so confident in your intelligence. Historically, archaeologically and spiritually, the Bible is being proved right over and over. The big bang theory! It defies two of the three Laws of thermodynamics! Evolution! If we evolved from monkeys, then why, are there still monkeys? Why don't we have hands where our feet should be? 39 years of my life I wasted living in ignorance of the truth, I pray to God that you see before it is too late. It seems to me that you are seeking, if you are posting comments on a biblically based website, if not why do you care? Let us be moral fools, condemned to a life of serving and helping others.

I believe a bat is a bird as much as I believe a tree is a child. Do you believe in the absolute laws of thermodynamics? How about the law of conservation of angular momentum? It's funny how science always changes it's theories to fit it's truth but God's word never changes to fit our truth.

Do you know why Leviticus was written? It is a book of laws set down by God to guide His children. God gave clear standards to living a holy life seperate and distinct from the pagans around them. If you know the Bible so well, what does it say about a man in his own wisdom? We are not meant to know all of the mysteries of God's word, if we did, we would not need Him. Heed my warning though, satan knows the Bible better than any man and he will twist everything you think you understand and use it for your destruction. I was in your shoes four years ago but thank God I have seen the light. I will pray that you open the door when He knocks. You can be a scientist and have faith in God as well, they are not mutually exclusive. I know plenty of scientists, doctors who are christians.

If you are truly open minded and willing to admit that you could be wrong, take the time to read a book entitled "The Case for a Creator" by Lee Strobel. He was an atheist,who as an award winning legal editor and journalist for the Chicago Tribune, was convinced that God was outmoded, irrelevent-or so he thought. "My road to atheism was paved by science...but, ironically, so was my later journey to God." -Lee Strobel. He has a journalism degree from the University of Missouri and a Master of Studies in Law degree from Yale Law.
God sent His Son to build a bridge to us from Him and all He needed was a little faith from us, some blood sweat and tears from Him, three nails a hammer and a wooden cross.
You may debate and dispute the Bible all you wish, so called intelligent men have done it for centuries. What you can not debate my friend, is what God has done in my life and will do in yours if you will have faith the size of a mustard seed. I still have questions myself, that's why I study but, I don't want to put my faith in man any more. Men will always let you down. God is faithful. He keeps His word.
God loves you and will meet you right where you are when you are ready.

I have read all of Lee Strobel's books. He is dishonest and extremely cowardly.

Once again, I will pray for you. I was on your side of the fence, remember? There is nothing you can say that will convince me to go back to your way of thinking. The god of this age (the devil)has blinded you, yet I will still pray that somehow you will be delivered. I pray that you will have divine revelation instead of human speculation. I pray that whatever has turned you away from your loving and heavenly Father will be taken away from you and the scales lifted from your eyes.
I have read other posts that you have put on this website and I know that you are hurting, searching, seeking...I was once on fire to douse any mention of God. I bristled at the very mention of His name. I was so deep in my own sin that I could not possibly see the truth with my own eyes. Cursing, fornicating, drugging, drinking to the point of nearly taking my own life, not once, not twice, but three times. I am a living testimony to what God can do if you let Him.

There is no need for you to reply to this for you and the master you serve can not lead me astray. On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.

Hey, I am a Christian, and I was just looking for stuff with my name, and I came across this site. Strange thing about it, I'm only in my twenties. But God's Word is not full of errors. Weird how the internet works.
