Murder - Is There Forgiveness? Oct 30 2008

"I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins." - Isaiah 43:25

The definition of murder is the premeditated killing of human life. So, since life begins at conception, any way you look at it, abortion is murder. If you have had an abortion, or performed an abortion, you are guilty of the sin of murder. But here is a message for those of you who have never been involved in an abortion - you, too, are guilty of murder. In fact, every person who has ever lived is guilty of the murder of the Son of God! This is not wordplay. It is an absolute fact that every sin each of us has ever committed directly caused the murder of Jesus Christ. We often speak of aborted children as "innocent life," but understand this - there has never been a more innocent life than Jesus Christ! And we all are responsible for His death.
.
Those of you who have had an abortion, and those of you who have performed an abortion, know that the rest of us share the guilt of sin with you. And you, just like all others who seek forgiveness, can have all of your sins forgiven...all of them! You have been cleansed by the loving sacrifice of the Son of God. Accept that forgiveness, discard your guilt, and know the internal peace that your Loving Father gives to all of us sinners. We all deserve death for our sin, but in Christ, we have forgiveness and eternal life.

Read about David and Bathsheba in the Bible and you get the answer. David was responsible for the murder of Uriah and when he confessed his sin to God, he was forgiven. Yes, there is forgiveness for murder. The Bible says it and we can belive it.

David's forgiveness did not absolve him of the consequences of his actions in this life however. Yes, we are all sinners and must pray for God's merciful forgiveness, which he will grant if we as in the name of His Son. But, we will all still be accountable for every thought and deed. I don't pretend to totally comprehend this, which is why I am so thankful for the teaching that we have a Graceful and Merciful God. Because we certainly don't want to get what we deserve, justice; we beg for Mercy which is unmerited, but available to us.

This devotion makes me have mixed emotions. When I consider how Jesus is not restrained to time as we are and that my sins went on Him over 2,000 years ago, that He took on every last one of my sins, then I am in great anguish knowing what He suffered for my sake. I am very sad and grieved. But at the same time I am joyful because I am free from the burden of guilt for my sin. It is a lovely provision the Father, Abba, has given to me. I am forgiven. Jesus lives in me and through Him I am made righteous before God. Praise the Lord!

Grant you bring up one of my many questions. If we are forgiven immediatley, the slate wiped clean and Jesus forgetting, then "when" are we held accountable? In this life? At judgement day? If at judgement day, Where are we at judgement day? I know I am saved by his blood and for my many sins and I love him and also grieve for what He went through for me, just imagine !!!! I have so many questions and can't find answers. If any of you can help me,please share your thoughts, views and scripture. Thank you ahead of time

Jenny, I am no expert on the Bible but perhaps the verses you want to look at are Romans14:10-12, "But why do you judge your brother: Or why do you show contempt for your btother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written: 'As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to Me, and every tongue shall confess to God.' So then each of us shall give account of himself to God." I am sure there is more but this is somewhere to start with an answer.

Jenny, The story that Grant brought up about David shows that sin has a price that has to be paid. God will forgive us for the sin but we have to deal with the consequneces. Remember, for every action there is a reaction. Christ died for our sins, but we are still sinners because of our inherited nature that has been handed down from Adam all the way to us. Even though you are saved you still will realize that God chastices those whom he loves. There will not be any sorrow in Heaven, nor any tears so believers will pay for our wrong doings here on this side of the grave. I hope this helps you. Have a blessed day.

Janice and Jerry, you helped me immensely and I thank you. My twin is a minister with his phd in theology. He tells me to just have "faith" and that all of the answers we will know one day. I'm just one of those that want to know when and how. I do have my faith and I have paid the price for my sins, what seems like, over and over. I know I do this to myself that He forgave me when I asked and repented. Have a blessed day as we all live under the mercy !
