The Game of Life May 27 2012

"For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it." - Hebrews 2:1

I have to laugh a little when I think of some of my racquetball games. One of the important keys to success in racquetball is being in the right position on the court. With the ball coming at you from every angle, believe me, this sport can make you react like a klutz if you are out of position. Proper positioning can determine a successful reaction, otherwise, watch out for a whiff!

Likewise, in life, being out of position makes us unprepared for all the challenges that come our way. God has given us the Bible as our playbook and guide as to how to be in the right position as we take on life. God is the ultimate coach for successful living. We can be confident in placing our complete trust in His wisdom. When following His playbook to the “t”, we will always find ourselves in the proper position to succeed in life. A good player will be prepared having studied his playbook regularly. Allow God’s Word to prepare you for the challenges of life. Now, get in the game.

Praise the Lord! Yes, being in the right position does count especially when faced with life hard knocks. I try to be extremely mindful of my surroundings for the mere fact of people bad influences can become contagious. You'll be surprise of the stuff that can easily beset you and get you off track if your not mediating on God's word daily.

How do I know which version of the bible to study? There have been so many translations over the years and a lot of mistakes made from the original documents? Where do I start?

Start with this:

"For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him Crucified..." Cor2/2.

And if you Finish with That? And still believe the Scriptures are Wrong concerning Jesus?

Let me Share something with you...There are no Original Documents. By Grace through Faith.

"For by Grace are you Saved through Faith; and that not of Yourselves: it is the Gift of God: So that no Man will take Credit for God's Glory..."

Ephesians Two. That is the Crux of the Biscuit.

Study them All...But get Grace through Faith First.

Sherri,

If you read the works of Bart Ehrman, you'll find that there is no such thing as "original documents". The Bible is a very human book that's been altered (deliberately and not deliberately) 1,000s of times throughout history.

The Ancient Scribes were very careful not to change any of the True Meanings of the Scriptures.

The Fact of the Matter is This:

Jesus existed. Jesus Saved. Jesus Died on a Cross and?

"Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us; for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree..."

Now there were no Original NT Documents at that point in time because Paul was in the Process of Writing Those.

He wrote a Bunch of them from Prison...

But Paul believed it and so did the Contemporary Historians along with the Roman Historians and the Fact Remains.

Jesus was Here. Jesus was Crucified. Jesus was Raised from the Dead. He Ascended to the Father. From the Father and the Son the Spirit Proceeds...

That Spirit which breaths into your Very Soul...God the Holy Spirit.

None of us have Originals of the Declaration of Independence/
The Magna Carta/The Gettysburg Address or the any of Luther's Stuff.

But my Theology Professor at Oxford(Emory)did hold an Original Luther...

But see it is not about this--It is about this:

"But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father...

Even the Spirit of Truth, which proceedeth from the Father, He shall bear witness of Me..."

That is The Deal. So if you don't want to Wind-Up on the Trash-Heap of Humanity like Old Uncle Gunk?

I'd suggest you get about the Business of Following Him.
