Faithfulness

"He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much." - Luke 16:10

I don't know many qualities more appreciated than faithfulness. Faithfulness is about dependability, loyalty, trustworthiness, and consistency.

Faithful people are faithful all the time -- not most of the time. I've been married over 30 years. That's over 10,950 days. How do you think my wife would feel if I prided myself on being faithful to her 10,949 days? Trust me - she wouldn't be happy. Just one day of unfaithfulness can ruin all the days of faithfulness, because faithfulness means being faithful all the time.

The longer I live, the more I appreciate people who are faithful; especially those who are faithful to God. That leads them to be faithful to their spouse, parents, brothers, sisters, friends, church members, co-workers, and those with whom they serve in a ministry or an organization. The longer we live, the more we appreciate faithfulness.

I never, in my 37 years of marriage, thought about it in days of being married. That's over 13, 400 days. And to think, that it could take just a few minutes to destroy it all.
Thanks for remiding me how precious each day is, and how I must protect every one of them, with God's help. - Eddie R. Gomez

A good thought for the day! - edvierling@sharonyounginc.com

Amen. This is a great reminder... and how refreshing and encouraging to hear this topic addressed. - WT

Very well said and the concept of success through persistence and consistency can be applied to many things in life. - Matthew

I just want to say how important it is to pray with extreme faith. A friend recently told me that if you pray out of habit or necessity, without expecting God to answer your prayers, your prayers are futile. If there is not faith in God's great power, there's no point in lifting up a prayer in the first place. It's extremely important to have faith in God to deliver you from all things and to come through in moments of need! Because with faith, you can move mountains! - Luke_13

No truer words ever spoken Luke_13. I know this as fact from personal experience. When my faith has been strongest is when I have felt my strongest and happiest. I always tell people you can't just pray and expect miracles to appear. You have to work within gods will and good things shall come your way. But there has to be true belief. - Matthew

I have always thought myself to have great faith in all that our wonderful God has done for me. I firmly believe that all things happen for a reason. However, recently a situation has arisen in my life involving a friend. I believe with all my heart that God had a direct purpose for us to meet and to become friends, but someone else has caused us to be unable to keep in communication with one another. Needless to say, my faith and patience have been tested greatly. Any suggestions or scriptures that someone could offer to help me keep this faith in my heart would be greatly appreciated as well as prayers.I truly feel this friendship is something that should be continued. Thanks.
BTW, I love reading these 1-minute devotions and the comments given by other brothers/sisters in Christ. It has been most helpful at times. - gloria
