Spread the Word Personally! Feb 24 2012

"...since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse." - Romans 1:19,20

Have you ever thought that it just doesn't seem fair that those who have never heard the word will be judged the same way as those who have rejected His message? God makes it clear that everybody has to answer to Him whether they've heard about Christ or not. As Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through Me."

There are some key things we must keep in mind. One, God is fair and just. He is going to do the right thing. Secondly, this is why the church has been given the Great Commission and called to take the gospel to the entire world. This command should give us a passion for the missionary endeavor to get out the good news. It should motivate us to spread the word personally as well as support those who make missionary work their full-time calling.

But what if we don't succeed in this and a person never has the opportunity to hear about Christ? We know the only way this unreached person will receive salvation is through what Christ has done on the cross. And every person will eventually have to answer to God, so how God deals with all of that is something we must simply leave in His hands, while we seek to help see that the Good News of Jesus is shared with as many as possible!

He's wrong there. Even wrong according to conservative theology:
God is just but he is not fair.

Good day.

Just curious, wrong according to whose conservative theology, Erik?
And I don't think God needs your endorsement to prove He is either just, fair or both.

According to what I was taught at my Southern Baptist church by a minister whose name you would know if I said it.

God is not always fair, but always just.

Thank you Erik, for your answer. I guess I think maybe our definition of fair and just may not be the same as God's definition and truly we don't know how He will ultimately judge those who have never heard the gospel. Bryant Wright is passionate about reaching those who have not heard and his sermon series reflects this passion. I think what he is trying to say here is that as Christians, our motivation should be to spread the word and
God will be fair and just to all. BTW, have you ever listened to any of his sermons on this website?

If God has a different definition of fairness than we do then something is seriously messed up.

So people who haven't heard the Gospel are going to hell. So what. It's their fault for being Chinese right?

"My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,' says the Lord.
'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts." Isaiah 55:8-9

What do you suppose this means? I think God's ways are much more complex than what we can ever imagine and I for one, would not presume to say what I think He should do. He loves us all and in 2Peter 3:9 it says He is not wishing that any should perish, but He is patiently waiting for all to come to Him. I think we try to put God into our finite view of the world and He doesn't fit there!

If his fairness and justice are different then
Maybe his love is too.
Maybe it's like hate. Who knows right ?

No, Erik, I think you know that is not true.

Linda, you will find out that Erik has a gift for drawing you into your web, just to try to make you look like you do not know what you are saying. He knows the truth but he has made the decision to rebel against his teachings. He will quote writings from other sources which doesn't disprove the Word of God but he will try to make you think it does. He knows, so be careful when you converse with him. Erik, God still loves you and he does not want you to choose to go to hell. Have a blessed day
