Sex God's Way May 12 2011
"I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine..." - Song of Solomon 6:3
Do you realize how positive the Bible is about sex in marriage? Listen to God's Word: "The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise, the wife to her husband." God's Word goes on: "The wife's body does not belong to her alone, but also to her husband."
Now, you'd expect to read words like that written in the first century A.D., but listen to the radical teaching that followed: "In the same way, the husband's body does not belong to him alone, but also to his wife." Now that was radical, counter-cultural teaching for the patriarchal first century world.
But God's Word applies to every age. It will always be counter-cultural in certain ways. Today, it is radically counter-cultural to teach that sex in marriage is the best. There is tremendous freedom for the husband and wife to enjoy one another. Our bodies are for the pleasure of our spouse--exclusively--no one else. That's radical, but it's best. So trust the Inventor of sex to know best.
