What Is Jesus? Mar 14 2011

“I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.” - John 14:6

Was Jesus Christ a closed-minded, egocentric, intolerant man? After all, He said, “I am the way, the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.” Was He narrow-minded like some we see in our world today, with perverted theological and ideological beliefs?

No way!

The world is motivated by hate - He by sacrificial love. He gave His life for us. Was He telling the truth - that He is the truth? Truth by definition means a contradictory statement is false. Either He’s who He says He is, or He's a liar - but not both. The only way to God and eternal life? How narrow! How exclusive and judgmental of others with different beliefs!

So what is He? Egocentric? Narrow-minded? Or the God who loves us and tells the truth? I believe He’s God. I believe He’s truth because of what He did for you and me - sacrificing His life for us and rising from the dead to prove He is God.

What do you believe? He's either one or the other. He can’t be both.

In Jesus, God became man. As promised by the prophets, a son was given - a savior (Messiah) was sent.

When speaking with the Samaritan woman at the well she said; “I know that Messiah” (called Christ) “is coming. When he comes, he will explain everything to us.”

Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.”

It just doesn't get any clearer than that. Those who believe are saved. Those who don't....

Grantster:

I love where Jesus told the Story of The Good Samaritan:
(and Yes I had to look it up in Strong's)

On the Road to Jericho-----

"A certain Man was going from Jerusalem to Jericho...

Thieves and Robbers beat the absolute you know what out of Him and left Him for Dead...

A Certain Priest(a Certain Priest mind us--Jesus had someone specific in mind)saw this Man and Steered Clear of any Intervention...

Then a Levite? Saw the same Situation and followed the Priest's Behaviour...

"But a Certain Samaritan, who was on a Journey?

When that Certain Samaritan saw him?
--------------
He felt Compassion...
---------------------
He Dressed and Bandaged this Man's Wounds?

Placed him on The Best Seat of Transportation?

Took him to the Best Lodge?

And spent time making sure that this completely and totally Brutalised Individual would be OK.

After the Religious Guys left this Man for Dead!

Then he Called for the Future Tab...

Here is yet Another Example of Christ's Love and Admiration for those who Do Good in Spite of Hatred and Prejudice.
----------------
Those Temple Guys could Care Less...

They did not even want the Memory of what they saw remaining in their "Minds".
----------------------

Whosoever Will May Come says Jesus--I have more Respect for You than you have for Me...

Forget those who Yearn for Propriety and Decorum and Follow Me...
-------------
Jesus told that Lawyer--"Here is your Neighbor and this Samaritan just Blew Your Doors Off Holy Man!"
--------------------

Remarkable--Only Jesus could do and say thing like This.

The Propitiation...God The Son.
