Liar, Liar! Jan 16 2011

"He is a shield to those who walk in integrity." - Proverbs 2:7

A few years back, in the movie Liar, Liar, Jim Carey starred as the profane attorney who was incapable of not lying for an entire day after his son made a birthday wish that his dad would stop lying.

Lying has become a pervasive problem. Have you fallen into the habit?

It seems that today's "me first" mindset places very little value on honesty and personal integrity. Truth is sacrificed on the altar of self-advancement. At the time, you may think that lying will make your life easier, but one lie almost always requires another and another and another. You have to remember everything you said to keep from confusing your lies.

But when you tell the truth, you don't have to remember what you said. That makes life a lot less complicated!

Which life have you created for yourself?

There's only one way to break the bondage of a lie, and that's with the truth. Seek to live with integrity and honesty and you'll find new freedom for living.

How? The truth is found in Jesus Christ. Find Him, and find the truth, the power, and strength to become a person of integrity.

Satan is the father of all lies. It is his favorite tool. He is constantly wispering lies in our ears. Lies of temptation. Lies of self pity. Lies of self importance. Lies of false pleasure. Lies, lies and more lies. All wrapped up to be attractive.

"Lies of Self-Pity--Lies of Self-Importance..."

So our Job is to Tell Ourselves The Truth...

We are Nothing Without Him.
-----------------
What about the Lies of Others?

If we play along just to Get Along?

Are we not Growing the Problem?
-----------------

The Older I get the more I get in Big Trouble when Telling the Truth...
-------------
Sometimes shouldn't we just Simply Tell the Truth in the Face of Lies?
------------
Won't win any Popularity Contests but at least it gets the Cards Face-Up on the Table.
------------------------

Will cost a Bundle but we should not allow Ourselves to be Trapped into remembering the Stories of Others...
---------------------
Then we Simply Play Devil's Advocate for the Pleasure of Peace...
-------------

This is Serious Stuff and we all have our own little Personal Blind-Spots...
-------------------------
I have to Tell the Truth tomorrow and it Will Cost Others--Not looking Forward to It but all this Childish Play is Getting Very Old/Gunk

So true, Grant. When I find myself trying to resist temptations, I try to remind myself that the basis of the temptation, the idea that doing X, Y, Z will make me happy, is just a lie.

Material things will make you happy, a lie.

Lusting will make you happy, a lie.

Money will make you happy, a lie.

Instant gratification will make you happy, a lie.

The list goes on and on...
